Body of Bharathiar University non-teaching staff recovered from river

The body of a non-teaching staff at the Bharathiar University here was found in the Bhavani river near Mettupalayam on Tuesday evening, police said.

COIMBATORE: The body of a non-teaching staff at the Bharathiar University here was found in the Bhavani river near Mettupalayam on Tuesday evening, police said.
The deceased has been identified as V Sadhasivam, 34, an office assistant at Bharathiar University.
On October 2, Sadhasivam stepped out of his house to give his son's clothes to a tailor. However, he didn’t return home.
Sadhasivam's wife approached B-4 police station here on Friday evening to register a missing complaint. "No written complaint was registered. However, police across the district were alerted," said a police officer.
His body was found stuck among the rocks on the river on Tuesday evening. The Mettupalayam police recovered the body. The body was identified using his driving licence found in his wallet.
The police also recovered a bike from near a bride over the Bhavani river.
The body was sent to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital for postmortem.
A member of the Bharathiar University teaching association said, "Sadhasivam was known to be a gentleman, and had recently completed his MBA. He was also trying to apply for PhD at the university so that he could join the teaching profession."
