Anam helps Pakistan whitewash Bangladesh

KARACHI - Spinner Anam Amin grabbed four wickets and consistent Bismah Maroof scored another fine 41 runs as Pakistan made a clean-sweep against Bangladesh after thumping them by six wickets in the second One-day International (ODI) on Tuesday.
After winning the opening two Twenty20 Internationals and first One-dayer, thanks to Bismah's brilliant 92 runs, Asian Games gold medalist Pakistan women team ended in a blaze of glory on a hot and humid day here at Southend Club Ground.
It was Anam's sensational bowling spell which lead Pakistan to comfortable win. She ended with four wickets for seven runs in 10 overs of left arm spin which spearheaded Pakistan to victory. Left-handed Bismah again was top scorer for her team with another solid 41 off 66 balls with seven delightful boundaries to take player of the series award.
Chief guest Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad presented the winning trophy to Pakistan captain Sana Mir and player of the match award to Anam Amin.
Mrs Najma Shaharyar Khan, wife of PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan, PCB Game Development Director Aizad Sayed, Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Siddiqui, KCCA president Prof Ejaz Faruqi and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Bangladesh captain Salma Khatun won her first toss of tour and bidding to change team's fortunes, elected to bat first, but were restricted to a modest 123 for the loss of nine wickets in their 50 over. Batter trio of Ayasha Rahman, Nigar Sultana and Ritu Moni showed some batting form.
Ayasha played some attacking shots while making 39 in 56 balls with half a dozen boundaries. Nigar played sheet-anchor role by scoring a sedate 30 after facing 109 balls and hits two boundaries and Ritu Moni struck two powerful boundaries in her 29 off 48 balls. Left arm spinner Anam ended with best figures of the series by capturing four wickets for seven runs in an amazing spell of spin. Pacer Asmavia Iqbal gave her great support with three wickets for 28 runs in seven overs.
