Clerical exam for Palghar cancelled after answers leak on WhatsApp
MUMBAI: The clerical exam for Palghar district held on Sunday has been cancelled after the answers leaked on social networking app.
The exam for 134 clerical posts in the revenue department of the Palghar Zilla Parishad was held at 11am on Sunday. Two candidates were caught copying using their cellphone. A case was registered with the Palghar police.
Investigations revealed that the answers of the 25 questions had been circulated on WhatsApp by around 11.45am.
The 50 marks paper would determine who of the 24,967 candidate would get the jobs.
The accused — Raju Mahur from Nanded and Rajeev Zadke from Yavatmal — had made calls to unidentified persons who were reading out the answers to them.
Candidates were not allowed to carry their cellphones. The two candidates appeared for the exam from the Aryan Education Society exam centre. A total of 57 centres were set up for the exam.
The new exam date will be announced soon.
