The PIL had sought for directions from the court to order for an independent probe
Bengaluru: In a relief to Lokayukta Dr Y Bhaskar Rao, the High Court on Monday dismissed a PIL filed against him for allegedly continuing to hold the designation of Supreme Court senior advocate despite assuming the post of Karnataka Lokayukta. The court while dismissing the PIL observed that Lokayukta has not practiced law before the Supreme
Court after assuming the office of Lokayukta. The PIL had sought for directions from the court to order for an independent probe into the alleged role of Bhaskar Rao in the corruption scam in the Lokayukta office, and holding the designation of SC senior advocate and at the same time functioning as the Lokayukta.
