Brooke Karzen has been upped to exec VP of alternative programming and development at Warner Horizon Television.

Karzen has been the longtime exec overseeing ABC’s “The Bachelor” franchise for Warner Horizon, and she was a key player in the launch of NBC’s “The Voice.” She reports to Mike Darnell, president of unscripted and alternative television for Warner Bros.

“Brooke is an amazing executive,” Darnell said. “She manages all aspects of one of the busiest production companies in the business and leads an incredible team. We are lucky to have her, and this promotion is long overdue.”

Karzen works closely with “Bachelor” exec producer Mike Fleiss and “Voice” maestro Mark Burnett. She recently helped shepherd the rollout of the Burnett-produced quiz show “500 Questions,” which was renewed for a second season by ABC.

Karzen joined Warner Bros.’ Telepictures Productions unit in 2000 as a programming exec. She shifted to Warner Horizon in 2006 and was previously promoted to senior VP of alternative programming in 2008.
