Motorists beware - there is a llama on the loose in Offaly this morning.

The animal is reported to be loose in the village of Rahan, west of Tullamore.

"There's a llama loose in the village of Rahan. Take care in the area," AA Roadwatch reported this morning.

It was a very busy morning on Irish roads this morning with four collisions recorded by AA Roadwatch before 9am.

A crash on Roches Street, Limerick has been cleared while the south-west also saw a minor collision at the Woodlands roundabout in Adare on the N21 Limerick/Tralee Road. Gardai attended the scene.

A crash on the N7 Limerick/Dublin road at Junction 7 Kill in the northbound lane has been cleared.

Meanwhile, the M3 Dublin/Navan Road was closed shortly after 8.30am while emergency services deal with a crash between Junction 5 Dunboyne and Junction 4 Clonee.
