The North Giza Court reduced the prison sentence for dancers Shakira and Bardis to three months from an earlier sentence of six months on Sunday. They were imprisoned for inciting debauchery by filming a video clip that included sexual undertones.
The defendants were later returned to Qanater prison.

The dancers' lawyers contend that the video clips are works of art that can be interpreted in different ways. They referred to a film by Haifa Wehbe that was given permission to be screened despite the fact that some people saw scenes they believed were sexually provocative.
