Over 200 passengers were evacuated from a VIA rail train after Woodstock police received information about an explosive on board.

Around 8:20 p.m. Friday the eastbound train stopped at the Woodstock VIA station, and all 221 passengers and 12 crew members evacuated.

Train traffic was stopped along the CN rail corridor while police and the OPP canine unit searched the train.

No explosives were found, and passengers were allowed to re-board the train around 10:30 p.m.

Police charged an 18-year-old train passenger with mischief over $5,000. They will appear in Woodstock court on November 10, 2015.
