RAMESWARAM: The Sri Lankan navy on Thursday night detained seven Tamil Nadu fishermen on charges of trespassing into the territorial waters of the island nation.
The fishermen from Nagapattinam and their boat have been taken to Kangesanthurai naval base in Sri Lanka.
U Arulanandam of the Alliance for Release of Innocent Fishermen said the apprehended fishermen would be handed over to the fisheries department of the island nation.

With the latest arrests, the number Indian fishermen detained by the Sri Lankan navy in the last 10 days has touched 35.
