Tamil Nadu: 96-year-old film lyricist accuses DMK leader M Karunanidhi of stealing his film script

This is apparently a story that happened 65 years which the 96-year-old has not forgotten. Tamil lyricist PK Muthusamy, 96, from Namakkal, has now accused DMK leader M Karunanidhi, of allegedly stealing his film script and storyline. 

A report in Deccan Chronicle states that the Muthusamy who is in penury had given the storyline of the movie Marudhanaattu Illavarasi to Karunanidhi in 1949. This was then made into a film without his knowledge.

Muthusamy has penned over 60 songs for Tamil films in his career. The report adds that he lost his money when he produced a film Thai Pirandhal Vazhi Pirakkum. He has written many odes praising chief minister Jayalalithaa and the former Chief Ministers CN Annadurai and MG Ramachandran adds the report.

He is said to be living on Rs 1500 a month now which he receives from Tamil Nadu government as a pension. He also apparently receives some money from publishing rights.
