The developers of the Kid3 open-source audio tag editor software were proud to announce the release of Kid3 3.3.0 for all supported operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.

According to the internal changelog, which we have attached below for reference, Kid3 3.3.0 brings with it many new features, such as support for submenus and separators in the user action context menu, re-implementation of a Default button in the Settings dialog, configurable order of quick access frames, as well as support for importing CSV (Comma Separated Values) files from multiple folders.

There's also support for the lyrics.wikia.com lyrics website, support for podcast frames on the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems, and support for table of contents (ToC) and chapters for audiobook frames. Additionally, the Czech language translation has been updated, user-friendly names are now displayed for all supported frames, and file permissions are now changed when modifying file names.

"If you want to easily tag multiple MP3, Ogg/Vorbis, Opus, DSF, FLAC, MPC, MP4/AAC, MP2, Opus, Speex, TrueAudio, WavPack and WMA files (e.g. full albums) without typing the same information again and again and have control over both ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags, then Kid3 is the program you are looking for," reads the project's website.

Multiple issues have been resolved

As expected with any new release of a software project, multiple issues have been resolved. Therefore, we can report that Kid3 3.3.0 adds missing translations and fixes the wrong ones, no longer aborts the compilation if qmlplugindump can't be started, adds support for KDElibs 4.14.11, and supports removing the ID3v1 genre with id3lib.

Last but not least, the name filters in KDE Plasma 5 no longer block file dialogs, an issue with random appearance of the download dialog related to Qt 5.5 has been fixed, and an issue with the Settings dialog in KDE Plasma 5 has been addressed.
