Around the same time as Arun Jailtley was releasing the BJP vision document with a number of promises, the grand alliance of RJD-JD(U)-Congress was holding a press conference to ask the BJP-led central government about the promises it had made during its campaign for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

The Congress’s Randeep Singh Surjewala, the JD(U)’s Pawan Verma and the RJD’s Manoj Jha released a 10-minute video, titled Jumlon Ki Jubani, Jhooth ki Karistani, to show that the BJP has been indulging “only in hawabaazi, or big talk”. The video brings up promises such as depositing Rs 15-20 lakh to every citizen’s account from black money that would be brought back from abroad, continuing ceasefire violations by Pakistan, and the state of the economy.

“What does the government have to say of the 852 ceasefire violations by Pakistan in the last 16 months, during which 12 jawans and 16 civilians were killed?” said Manoj Jha.
