Islamabad: Senior Hurriyat leader and Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has appreciated the stance of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, during his address before the UN General Assembly. It reflects the aspirations of over 13 million peoples of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Rehmani said Prime Minister’s emphasis on demilitarization of Jammu and Kashmir, ending of tyranny in Kashmir, consultation with Kashmiris, peace and dialogue were the ways of achieving durable and sustainable regional peace. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani praised Prime minister’s tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiris, for their right of self-determination in front of India’s military brutalities for over a decade. He said that prime minister’s pointing to ‘United Nation’s most persistent failure’ with regard to granting the right of self-determination to Kashmiri’s past three generations, should be an eye-opener to the world body, says a press release issued today.
The Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon after the principled stand taken by Pakistan in the General Assembly should begin negotiations with the stakeholders and member states, on the worsened conditions in Kashmir and urge on India to cooperate with the concerned parties and UN on resolving the conflict according to the United Nation’s Security Council resolutions, he maintained.
