Cheryl Fernandez-Versini on 'skinny shaming': 'It's double standards - you'd never be able to call someone fat'
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has opened up about the constant speculation around her super slim frame.
The X Factor judge (32) has lost a significant amount of weight in recent months, prompting fans to rally around her and comment on her appearance.
Fernandez-Versini covers the current issue of In Style and slammed the "crazy double standards" with reporting on body types.
"It's crazy double standards. You'd never be allowed to say to somebody, "Oh, you look a bit fat." And being overweight is unhealthy – it's actually a bad message to tell someone who is obese that they look "curvy" or "great",' she told the magazine.
"But you know what? After this length of time, there's nothing I can hear about myself that I haven't already heard."
Cheryl first sparked concern among her fans when she was pictured looking slimmer than ever at the X Factor auditions this summer.
In the candid interview, the former Girls Aloud singer joked she might be "deluded" about the idea that she's low maintenance when it comes to keeping the spark alive with her husband of more than a year Jean Bernard.
"I think I'm low maintenance, but maybe I'm deluded," she added.
"I know my environment isn't easy - my day gets planned out in advance all the time, so I'm like, 'Oh, actually change that. We can't meet tonight'."
