Minister Mitov meets with Victoria Nuland, participates in Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty conference

Within the frameworks of his ongoing visit to New York for his participation in the 70th regular session of the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov met with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland. The strategic dialogue between Bulgaria and the USA was reconfirmed at the meeting and also current international issues were tackled, along with the results from the joint work in areas such as security and defense, energy security and diversification etc. Minister Mitov also took part in the conference on the speeding up the coming into force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) by underlining the significance of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and appealing to those countries that still haven’t ratified it to take quick measures for joining it, as its entering into force depends on their signatures.
