PATNA: With the aim to placating dissidents, uniting party worker from the grassroots level and establishing coordination between different wings of saffron brigade, BJP chief Amit Shah on Tuesday arrived on a weeklong tour of Bihar.
With just 15 days left for the first phase of polls when 49 assembly constituencies will vote on October 12, BJP chief is scheduled to hold a series of meetings for a final push to dislodge Nitish Kumar-led Mahagathbandhan of the Congress, RJD and JD(U).

Shah had a series of meetings with top leaders and some dissidents on the first day itself and tried to pacify them so that there is no infighting during the election.
Accompanied by BJP’s election in-charge and Union minister Ananth Kumar, the party chief will have nine regional meetings across the state, in which senior leaders from all 38 districts will participate. Shah will also review preparations for PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Banka on October 2.
Bihar BJP spokesperson Sanjay Mayukh said Shah would work to keep the party united.
BJP sources said Shah wanted to ensure that the entire organization, along with RSS is united and work towards the goal to win assembly elections, as they did for the Lok Sabha, Haryana and Maharashtra polls. “Shah is also expected to have meetings with senior RSS leaders in Patna and evolve a strategy before leaving for Begusarai on Wednesday,” said a source.
A senior BJP leader said Shah will hold party meetings at Begusarai, Aurangabad, Patna, Muzaffarpur and Supaul. He will have hold rallies at Kishanganj, Katihar and Purnia.
“The meetings and rallies are planned in eastern districts as BJP had lost all the seats in last year’s Lok Sabha election. Because of his engagement in Bihar, he would not take part in ‘Jan Samwad’ at the party headquarters on October 5, October 19 and November 2,” said a source.
