Used for everything from music albums to quinoa salad, ‘cool' might just be the most overused adjective in our linguistic repertoire. And yet, it best describes what we set out to do with this eighth anniversary issue. At the outset, let me be clear that by ‘cool' we don't just mean au courant. Our take on India Cool is a deconstruction of her attributes; it's saying that her people are making interesting, and often unconventional, choices. Whether it's treading lesser-known trails, turning to tradition with pride, being audacious, or embracing success while at the same time opening up about our vulnerabilities, all of this makes our country, its people and our everyday environment pretty cool.
