The Syracuse standout is headed to the Georgia Swarm
Former Orange star Randy Staats was selected sixth overall in the 2015 NLL Draft by the Georgia Swarm.
Staats, who earned a silver medal with the Iroquois Nationals on Sunday at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships, was selected by the relocated franchise for its inaugural season after previously competing as the Minnesota Swarm for 11 years.
Staats recorded 109 points in his two seasons at Syracuse, with 62 goals and 47 assists in 27 games played, and was a USILA Honorable Mention All-American in 2015 after being a Tewaaraton Award nominee as a junior.
The Six Nations, Ontario native was selected 29th overall by the Rochester Rattlers in the MLL Draft this past year, where he scored seven goals and collected two assists in five games played.
Staats will join fellow Orange alum Joel White on the Swarm, who was acquired near the end of last season.
