App-based taxi service Uber on Monday said it has signed a partnership with Apollo hospitals to provide free rides to people visiting its hospitals in 11 cities for a check.

NEW DELHI: App-based taxi service Uber on Monday said it has signed a partnership with Apollo hospitals to provide free rides to people visiting its hospitals in 11 cities for a check. The cities covered are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mysuru, New Delhi, Pune, Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam.
"Starting today, people who have not signed up with Uber yet, will be able to avail a free ride to and from any Apollo Hospital across 11 cities in India on booking a health check.
All new Uber users will be provided with a promo code by Apollo which will give them two free rides worth Rs 250 each," Uber said in a statement.
Existing Uber users can avail a 10% discount on Apollo Personalised Health Check (APHC) & DNA+ from Datar Genetics, which is being offered along with the APHC, and a 15% discount on Apollo Heart check and Whole Body check for 3 weeks.
"Our efforts in this space began a few months ago and we look forward to working closely with more partners in the healthcare sector in the future," an Uber spokesperson said in the statement.
Apollo hospitals director, preventive medicine, Udhaya Balasubramaniam said: "The tie up with Uber will help people travel comfortably to the Apollo Hospital or clinic of their choice, when they come to do their health checks."
