668 young chessers finish 5th GATE Chess Clinic

LINGAYEN – Some 668 chess enthusiasts received their certificates of completion from Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. during the closing ceremonies of the 5th GATE Chess Clinic held on September 20 at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center.

Twenty-two-year old Pascua of Mangatarem town, who was anactive participant in chess clinics and tournaments sponsored by the Espino administration since 2010, Pascua,  graced the opening program of the 2015 GATE chess clinics last September 12.

 PCL President Juan Vicente Sison noted that all participants of the chess clinic will advance to the chess tournaments of the 2015 Pangasinan Chess Festival.

 The component chess tournaments of the chess festival include: 5th Pangasinan Age

Group Chess Championship (October 10-11); 5th Pangasinan Chess Championship (November 7-8); and 7th Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. Cup Open Chess Tournament (December 11-13). (PIO MNO)
