Graeme McDowell travels to Scotland for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship happy to have shaken off the rust of a five-week break.

McDowell made his first competitive appearance since the US PGA Championship in the Porsche European Open at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach and finished with a third consecutive 70 for six-under par 278.

Tournament winner Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand claimed his seventh European Tour title with a bogey-free 67 for 17-under par.

England's Graeme Storm finished one shot behind Jaidee in second place but he had no regrets.

Storm, 37, was 127th on the Race to Dubai but the €222,220 runner-up cheque has clinched his card for 2016.

Damien McGrane, the only other Irish player to make the cut, shot a disappointing four-over-par 75 to finish on level-par.
