Style icons Twiggy, Penelope Tree and Jane Birkin were on the minds of designers at Gucci, Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton for AW15.

Models were matched down runways in mini-skirts, trapeze dresses, patent Mary-Janes, graphic bobs and pastel colours presenting a fresh, carefree take on the Swinging Sixties London.

And the look is all over the high street with Dorothy Perkins delivering an impressive collection bursting with affordable designs.

Think rich autumn colours - from caramel, stone and tan neutrals to midnight, cobalt, burnt orange and sunshine yellow - mini hemlines and knee high boots.

High necklines and A-line shapes typical of the era are mixed with elements of pretty preppy and retro flair.

Winter chic: White blouse €32, Grey wool dress €35, Boots €49, Rings €10

This season denim is clean and untreated in new silhouettes - channel your inner Mary Tyler Moore in flare dungarees (€44) teamed with a pretty floral blouse (€39) for an effortlessly chic take on the trend.

Layering is key as high neck skinny ribs are paired with the classic Sixties neat dress shapes and the prim pinafore dress.

We love the faux leather dress (€45) matched with a white roll neck (€14) and black ankle boots (€60).

As for coats, the cocoon, cropped suede, military and retro zip through boxy sheepskin jackets are king for the new season.

Animal print is also featured in the guise of zebra with the mini and the pinafore dress both making a statement.

Top of our must-buy list are the snakeskin print platform Mary-Janes, a steal at just (€40).

BEST DRESSED: Georgia May Jagger

Like mother, like daughter! Georgia May Jagger is clearly channelling her mum Jerry Hall’s glamorous Studio 54 heyday with this gorgeous creation.

The top model stepped out at the Pan World Premiere in London’s Leicester Square earlier this week in a snazzy 70s style navy velvetjumpsuit.

The star looked every inch the fashionista in the one-piece by Sonia Rykiel.
