Just a couple of days ago, we told you about this little kid, who was spotted by Metro user Vikas Sharda at Noida metro station trying to earn a living. The boy, sitting on the pavement with a weighing machine and notebooks was trying to balance out his education and business. Sharda clicked a picture of the boy and shared it on Facebook. And, thankfully, the post went viral on the Internet. In no time, people were sharing the story and praising him for his determination.

After reading the post, several people, including political parties like Samjawadi party offered to help the boy despite knowing very little about him. Ashray Gupta, president of Samajwadi Party's Noida Youth brigade, promised to sponsor his studies. He also requested the boy to not sit at the metro station.

The boy, Harendra Singh Chauhan, 13, who studies at Sri Krishna Inter College, Sector 22, Noida. He wakes up at 6 everyday and walks 5km to reach school on time. After school, Harendra takes out time for computer classes and then tries to make a living, sitting at the metro station till 9 pm.

Harendra said,  "My father lost his job in 2013. After that, he bought a weighing scale and would sit where I did at the station to earn a living. In June, both my parents went to our village in Etawah and I realised I had to complete some projects for my holiday homework. For this I needed to buy some paper, colours and files but had no money. So, I picked up my father's weighing machine and set off for the station. I took my books along as I did not want to waste my time waiting for customers. The first day I earned Rs 60, and slowly I was able to save about Rs 200 for my project work.”

Harendra’s father has polio and cannot walk properly. He has two siblings, Vivek (17) and Himanshu (7), who reside at Hoshiarpur Village near Noida sector 51.

Harendra is fond of studying. His favorite subjects is Maths and despite difficulties, the little boy manages to be among top three of his class. He hopes to become an Army officer one day.

We at Indiatimes sincerely hope that Harendra gets everything he wishes for. We salute his undying spirit and determination and hope he fulfills all his dreams one day.
