Back with another season of indulgence, the seventh edition of Royal Fables is set to relive the regalia of the past at The Mansion, Hyatt Regency hotel this weekend.

The two-day exhibition will showcase art, crafts and fashion trends inspired from erstwhile kingdoms; created by the descendants of the royal families.

The show will be flagged off on Saturday evening with Shriji Arvind Singh of Mewar and Radhika Raje Gaekwad of Baroda as the guests of honour.

The exhibit will trace how French culture influenced the interiors of many Indian palaces, and a chandelier from the Laxmi Niwas Palace of Baroda will also be on display. The 1939 Dodge procession car from Palitana from The Titus Museum of Transportation and Collectibles will also be showcased.

Art and crafts are an integral part, and will include ateliers led by Diya Kumari of Jaipur, Radhika Raje Gaekwad of Baroda, Darshana Kumari of Mandawa, Alkarani Singh of Pratapgarh, Royal family of Kangra-Lambargaon, Jyotsna Kumari of Jammu & Kashmir, Nandini Singh of Jhabua, and Meenal Kumari Singhdeo of Dhenkanal.

Umang Hutheesing, who is renowned for his intricate fashion creations, will present 60 patan patola drapes for the season. Speaking to Mail Today, he shares, "The grace of the patola is unmatched; it is one of the most complicated weaves of the world. I believe that beauty lies in a classic piece of work."

Terming the gathering as the 'Reinvented Family of Erstwhile Nobilites', Umang strongly believes in reviving the regional arts and crafts to continue the legacy. As he says, "The state coffers don't exist, but the trust still does." Royal Fables will take place on September 26 and 27, from 11am to 7pm at The Mansion, Hyatt Regency.
