KYOTO, Japan, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- A Japanese man named Hidekichi Miyazaki broke his own record for the oldest competitive sprinter Wednesday in Kyoto, Japan.
Miyazaki, 105, had a time of 42.22 in the 100-meter sprint at the Kyoto Masters Athletics Autumn Competition, according to Guinness World Records.
"Today my target was 35 seconds...I shed tears of disappointment because I was not in good condition," Miyazaki told Guinness World Records. "I am not satisfied with today's time. But I am satisfied that I could cross finish line."
Miyazki, or the "Golden Bolt," earned his nickname from emulating Usain Bolt's lightening pose.
