MIRI: Another six students who graduated from Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (DipOSH) of Fajar International College (FIC) will go to Middlesex University, London for the September intake.

They were the latest of the many batches of FIC graduates under the FIC-Middlesex collaboration who will complete their degree studies in one academic year or 9 months’ stay in London.

The university gave them and applicants of other various programmes a pre-departure briefing at FIC about campus life in London.

Since FIC and Middlesex University inked their collaboration agreement in 2009, there have been many DipOSH graduates from FIC completing their final year in B.Sc (Hons) in OSH.

Middlesex University, which has offered excellence in education for over 130 years, has been consistently recognised by the Quality Assurance Agency (OAA) of UK for their high standards in teaching and is internationally recognized for researches that have real impacts on people’s lives.

Students work alongside lecturers and professors to draw on their research, professional experience and expertise in the north London university which has students coming from over 140 countries.

The state-of-the-art campus, which has invested over £200 million to provide outstanding learning environment for teaching and research, won the Best Facilities award in the inaugural Guardian University Awards. It has an inspiring learning environment where all students have access to expert staff and an extensive range of laboratories, workshops and studios.

Accepting FIC DipOSH graduates into their final year of the B.Sc (Hons) in OSH enables students to save time and cost.

DipOSH from FIC is the only college Diploma in OSH programme that is recognised by Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia besides their Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) accreditation in East Malaysia.

As such, graduates with relevant work experience can register as ‘Safety & Health Officer’ or SHO with DOSH.

The diploma has also secured accreditation and official recognition from Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, United Kingdom (IOSH-UK) which confirms that DipOSH of FIC is of international standard.
