Teen kills father, assaults mother over marriage plans

The Jawhar police have arrested an 18-year-old boy for allegedly assaulting his father till he died and injuring his mother as he was furious after his parents refused to let him get married.

On Sunday, the accused Kiran Pawar,18, at his residence in Babri Pada of Jawhar got into a fight with his father Vinayak Pawar, 60, and his mother Rukmani, 55. He was angry after they told him they would not let him get married. He assaulted both of them. He stood on his father's neck, killing him instantly.

"Kiran assaulted his mother and killed his father by punching and kicking them. He stood with all his weight on his father's neck,” said an official from Jawhar police station.

"We have arrested him under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The Wada court has remanded him in police custody for seven days. We are investigating further," said API Budhar of Jawhar police station.
