Former players from England and Scotland's most successful teams, Manchester United, Liverpool, Rangers and Celtic will head to Dubai this year for the inaugural Dubai Duty Free Football Legends Tournament - which will be played on October 23 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.
Liverpool stalwarts John Barnes and Patrik Berger have confirmed their participation in October's tournament, along with Vladimir Smicer who last played for Liverpool in their epic UEFA Champions League final against AC Milan in Istanbul, 2005. Manchester United, Celtic and Rangers fans will have the pleasure of seeing stars such as Viv Anderson, Andy Goram and Regi Blinker battle it out on the pitch at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.
John Barnes, who made over 300 appearances for Liverpool and won 79 caps for England, stated: "I cannot wait to step back on that pitch in Dubai! Liverpool against Man Utd and Rangers against Celtic are some of the biggest rivalries in the world of football, and you can be sure that none of these players like to lose so the competitiveness will still be there for all to see!"
