If you're still reeling from
Salman's Khan Ganesh Visarjan dance, it's time to shift focus. Thailand is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi too and in rather endearing a manner.
In a YouTube video titled "Ganesh Utsav at Thailand," a large congregation can be seen performing a very novel style of
pooja. This group has set up their
aarti ki thali with candles instead of
agarbatis and a huge
laddoo cake instead of the customary
modak. And behold, the traditional
aarti songs have been passed over for the birthday song.
Yes, it's
happy birthday to you to Lord Ganesha in Thailand. They even chant "Ganpati Bappa Morya, Mangalmurti Morya" once their
aarti is complete.
