UK-based rigid plastics company spent almost a year looking for the right partner

Spectra Packaging, a UK-based rigid plastics company, has announced a partnership with Polish flexible tube manufacturer MPack Tubes. The partnership will significantly increase Spectra’s existing product offering, according to the company, and comes at a time when numbers of suppliers of flexible tubes in the UK are dwindling.

Jonathan Powell Sales Director at Spectra, said: "Over recent years we have witnessed a shrinking number of suppliers, particularly for flexible tubes, in the UK. A number of customers I have spoken with are genuinely concerned by a lack of diversity of choice in the market due in part to ongoing mergers and acquisitions. The opportunity to offer those customers more choice by working with MPack will certainly satisfy a demand and help allay fears of a growing environment of potentially unhealthy competition."

Spectra revealed that it spent nearly a year exploring the feasibility of increasing its offering to include flexible tubes, “exhaustively” looking for potential partners. MPack is said to have been the stand-out candidate. Powell added: "The superior quality of their [MPack's] products and their excellent rapid response service was why we specifically hand-selected them as someone to work with. This promises to be a true partnership which will undoubtedly benefit both parties."

As a result of the new partnership, Spectra will be able to provide a range of flexible tubes with diameter sizes ranging from 19mm to 50mm. The tubes will be able to be decorated using a wide variety of methods.
