Transfer human sacrifice case to CBI: Ramadoss

September 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - CHENNAI:

PMK leader S. Ramadoss on Saturday made a demand for transferring to the CBI the case of alleged human sacrifice committed in the granite quarry in Keezhavalaivu in Madurai district.

In a statement here, he said the inquiry by IAS officer U. Sagayam into irregularities in granite quarries had brought to light very shocking details in 10 months.

“Ruthless operators”

“Those who ran the quarries have ruthlessly removed the obstacles in their path and occupied private lands to expand their operations. Now, allegations of human sacrifice to promote the business has shocked everyone,” he said.

Dr. Ramadoss said that while unearthing of four skeletons and pooja items had raised doubts about human sacrifice, there was an attempt to divert the case by saying that the place was once a graveyard.

“Mr. Sagayam has explained that revenue records had made no reference to the existence of a graveyard.

“At a time when Chief Justice of High Court expressed his displeasure over the State police, the case should be handed over to the CBI,” Dr. Ramadoss said.
