SA solo freestyle dance champion Darren Hammond is best known for his appearance on the SABC1 show, "So You Think You Can Dance". He talks to us about Mediterranean cruises and getting sunburnt in Mozambique. Where did you spend your last holiday?Malaga, Spain.mini_story_image_vleft1Your favourite city abroad and why?Rome. The history and artistry put it at the top of my list.What must a first-time visitor see there?The Vatican City and the Coliseum. Both are mind-blowing.What should they not bother with?There is a two-hour queue to see some of the sites but don't let that bother you. The wait is worth it.What was your best holiday, ever?An all-inclusive cruise with my girlfriend and some dancing friends on Liberty of the Seas. We left from Barcelona, stopping in a different city every day for seven days, through Spain, France and Italy.What was your worst holiday ever?story_article_right2A week-long holiday in Mozambique one December. After fishing for 12 hours on the first day, I got so badly sunburnt on my legs that I actually couldn't straighten them or walk for four days.Who would be your fantasy holiday companion and why?It would be out in the wilderness with Bear Grylls, teaching me to thrive with just my bare hands, getting in touch with nature.Your favourite SA destination and why?The Kruger National Park. Wildlife is my second love, after dancing, and that park has a very special place in my heart.What's your best piece of travel advice?Pay special attention to the fine print at car-rental companies and take your own headphones on the plane...
