Neene Bari Neene is a contemporary story

It’s a film that has been in the making for a long time, no doubt. But debutant director Deepak Thimaya tells us that Neene Bari Neene, which he has produced with Ashok Kheny, is a very contemporary love story. The film, starring Anish, Deepika Kamaiah and Samyukta Hornad in lead roles, releases tomorrow. “Take, for instance, the two leading ladies. They do not base their lives on the hero. They are well-grounded, strong and self-respecting individuals who know what they want and are not the sort to be bogged down by setbacks in life,” explains the director.The biggest challenge of this project has been the fact that it has been worked on backwards, starting from the music — from an album by the same name that was produced by Ashok — being launched first. “Yet, this has turned out to be a visual treat, with some great music, and a heart-warming story that ensures it leaves you with a light mind,” explains Deepak. “This is my first film and with years of experience in the field of media, I can say that I have played it safe as far as gauging what the audience will like. It is a film that one can relate to — irrespective of age and gender,” he adds.
