Prasanta Kumar Jena, a teacher of Sainik School, Goalpara, received the national teachers award from President Pranab Mukherjee on September 5.
Prasanta Kumar Jena joined Sainik School Goalpara on 15 July 1980. He is a great leader who introduced innovative ideas and practices in the school. His contribution to the student community and his dedication at work fetched him this recognition.
Earlier Teachers’ Day was also celebrated at Sainik School, Goalpara is a unique and special affair. This year’s celebration started off with a tree plantation drive, by the teachers and cadets. A football match was played between the teachers and students. A Special Assembly was organised in which teachers were honoured.
