Lagardere Entertainment, France’s leading audiovisual production group, is set to rebrand itself into Lagardere Studios.

Lagardere said the rebranding was part of its plan to expand its reach beyond France. The company has already reorganized its activities into four major divisions: French TV production, international TV production, the distribution/acquisition of formats and corporate/digital biz.

“This change of indentity is therefore a new step in Lagardere Studios’ strategy to conquer international markets and become a European major producing audiovisual content,” stated the company.

Takis Candilis, the president of Lagardere Studios, said the group’s goal was to pursue its expansion to consolidate and expand its leadership in France as well as develop it in Europe.

The rebranding was announced today by Denis Olivennes, president of Lagardere Active.

Lagardere Entertainment Rights, the outfit’s commercial arm, has just sold the second season of the franchise-based English-language skein “Transporter – The Series” to Channel 5 in the U.K., Antena 3 in Spain and RTL in Germany.
