Paedophile sexually abused infant before murder
Rajgopalnagar police say that Murthy, the accused, was under heavy influence of drugs at the time of incident
The Rajgopalnagar police investigating the murder of a one-and-a-half-year-old infant have found that the killersexually abused the boy and then bludgeoned him to death. The deceased, Firoz R, was abducted by his father’s friend Murthy, 18, a labourer in RMC Yard market. According to the mother of Firoz, her husband, Rafeeq, along with Murthy came home at around 2.30 pm on September 12. After spending sometime, the duo along with Firoz went to a shop to buy snacks for the infant.
After 5-10 minutes, Rafeeq alone returned to the house. When his wife asked about the child, Rafeeq told her that Murthy was supposed to have brought him back from the shop. After waiting for some time for Murthy to come home with Firoz, the duo started searching for them. The couple found Murthy in Yeshwanthpur and enquired about Firoz. Murthy reportedly told the couple that he had left the infant in MS Palya. Panicked that something may happen to the infant, they rushed to MS Palya along with Murthy.
They did not find Firoz, and the couple insisted that Murthy show them where their son was. Murthy took a bottle from the roadside, assaulted Rafeeq and managed to escape. The couple frantically searched for their son for some more time after which they rushed to the police station and filed a kidnap case against Murthy. Police detained Murthy, who did not confess about the murder or give them any clue about Firoz’s whereabouts. Next morning, he allegedly confessed to the police about the murder when the latter threatened to push him at a moving train.
He then took them to the Air Force chief engineer’s office premises where a mini forest is located. The police found a body in the bushes, naked, and bludgeoned to death with a huge stone. Though sexual assault was clear as the body was naked, they needed confirmation as according to the parents, Firoz was clothed. Murthy, however, told police that the clothes may have been taken away by street dogs.
But during the course of investigation, police found that Murthy had sexually assaulted the boy before killing him. The police have taken up a case under IPC Section 377- Unnatural offences (Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal), and Section 4 (Whoever commits penetrative sexual assault) and 6 (Whoever commits aggravated penetrative sexual assault of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act).
Murthy along with Rafeeq is said to have consumed alcohol before going to their house. Murthy is also believed to be a solution inhaler and was allegedly under the influence of heavy drugs at the time of the incident. Each time Murthy inhaled solution, he would go to the Air Force office premises and spend time there.
