Armenian-British parliamentary ties underwent active development. Republic of Armenia Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian thanked John Whittingdale for his participation in the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide on April 24.

During the meeting a reference was made to the possibilities of expanding Armenian-British cooperation in the field of culture, the importance of presenting Armenian cultural heritage in the United Kingdom was bilaterally emphasized. In this context, the realization of joint projects was touched upon during the meeting.

Edward Nalbandian also visited UK Parliament in London where he met members of the British House of Lords Caroline Cox and Henry Harrison. Issues related to Armenian-British parliamentary cooperation and activities of forming a new all-parliamentary friendship group were discussed during the meeting.

Edward Nalbandian met the UK commission on coordination of the events for the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide who presented the activities and initiatives they had realized.

A reference was also made to the preparations for the ecumenical ceremony dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide to be held at Westminster Abbey, October.
