The World's oldest classic - St Leger stakes

Irish trainer Aiden O'Brien has three runners competing in the St Leger this weekend. Order of St George, Bondi Beach and Fields Of Athenry.

With keen eyes from Australia looking on. The three Melbourne Cup nominated runners will need to prove their case to book a trip to Australia.

Order of St George was last seen in the Group 3 Irish St Leger trial at Curragh winning by 7.5 lengths. He will face sterner opposition here but the run can't be overlooked.

Bondi Beach competed in the Group Two Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. In what is considered by astute racing judges as the best trial for the classic. Bondi Beach found Storm The Stars stronger on the day, going down by half a length at the finishing line.

Fields Of Athenry appears the most underestimated of the three Aiden O'Brien runners. Fields Of Athenry finished just behind the placings at its most recent outing. Prior to his last run, he had strung two wins together.
