The producers of the Streamy Awards — hoping to turn this year’s kudocast into a primetime TV hit on VH1 instead of an online-only event — have tapped big-name musical acts as well as digital and Hollywood celebs to be part of the show.
OMI, Six Mix-a-Lot, A Great Big World featuring Futuristic, and Hailee Steinfeld will be among the featured musical performers for the fifth annual Streamy Awards. The show is slated to air live on VH1’s linear TV channel and digital platforms on Sept. 17 at 10 p.m. ET (delayed for West Coast) from the Hollywood Palladium theater.
Presenters at the Streamys, which recognizes the best YouTube and online-video content and creators of the year, are scheduled to include: Natasha Bedingfield, Ciara, Frankie Grande, YouTube vlogger Jenna Marbles, the Smosh guys (Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla), NeNe Leakes (“The Real Housewives of Atlanta”) and James Van Der Beek (“Dawson’s Creek”). In addition, YouTube comedienne Miranda Sings will be featured in a special appearance at the show.
As previously announced, YouTube stars Grace Helbig and Tyler Oakley will emcee. The VH1 telecast on VH1 marks the TV debut for the Streamy Awards, produced by Dick Clark Prods. and Tubefilter.

Additional presenters are set to include Paula Abdul, Mel B. (“America’s Got Talent”), Phil DeFranco, Ricky Dillon, GloZell Green, Kat Graham (“The Vampire Diaries”), Hannah Hart, Mamrie Hart, Shay Mitchell (“Pretty Little Liars”), Harley Morenstein, Ingrid Nilsen, Pauley Perrette (“NCIS”) and Jillian Rose Reed (“Awkward”).
Pop star OMI is best known for his worldwide hit “Cheerleader,” ranked among one of the most popular songs of this summer, while actress-singer Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit,” “Pitch Perfect 2”) released hit song “Love Myself” this summer.
The choice of Sir Mix-a-Lot, a Grammy-winning rapper whose heyday was in the early 1990s, looks aimed to appeal to a Gen-X crowd. Great Big World duo Ian Axel and Chad King were behind “Say Something” with Christina Aguilera and recently released single “Hold Each Other” featuring Futuristic.
Ten awards will be presented live at the 2015 Streamy Awards. Winners from the remaining categories will be announced at a pre-show reception hosted by Chelsea Briggs and GloZell Green on Monday, Sept. 14, at YouTube Space LA in Playa Vista.
The fifth annual Streamy Awards are executive produced by Dick Clark Productions’ Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan, Assaf Blecher and Ariel Elazar, as well as Streamy Awards founders Drew Baldwin and Joshua Cohen. Lee Rolontz and Lara Fried will executive produce for VH1.
