Asterial Dance to Perform CAPTIVA and UPSURGE, 11/20

As Artistic Director and Choreographer of Asterial Dance, Megan Lynn seeks to positively impact lives through dance by means of performance production and social outreach. During the emergence of the company since May 2012, Megan has taken a unique approach to producing art. While constantly busy at work in the studio with her dancers, exploring new ideas and ways of physicalizing different human experiences, each of her company members also works administratively to help not only produce Asterial's own season of performances, but also the Biomorphic Dance Festival, which promote the work of 16 emerging artists, and the Upsurge Choreography Platform, three split bill performances which promote more established companies. The company has also partnered with the Salvation Army in Times Square this year to teach outreach classes for children without other access to dance.

Megan Lynn and Asterial Dance will be presenting the company's fall season, Captiva, alongside Nick Neagle's NSquared Dance at the Hudson Guild Theatre located on 441 W. 26th St., New York, NY on Friday November 20th and Saturday November 21st at 8:00 pm & Sunday November 22nd at 5:00 pm. It's a dynamic movement experience of original dance works that capture the full range of the company's artistry and unique use of props and lighting. That same week at the Hudson Guild Theatre, Megan and Nick will present the second Upsurge Choreography Platform, showcasing Christina D'Arrigo, Delineation Dance, and Omar Roman de Jesus on Saturday November 21st at 5:00 pm and Sunday November 22nd at 2:00 pm. There will be a preview and post-performance artist talk back on Thursday November 19th at 8:00 pm with all 5 companies!
