Dr-Omkar-Rai-300x252With an aim to boost the startups in the Indian IT and ITeS sector, the Center for Office Automation, Information Technology and Telecommunication India (CeBIT) has tied up with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, to organise a three-day “CeBIT India 2015” in Bengaluru from 29th to 31st October 2015.

This tie-up will allow MSMEs from across the India to showcase their new and innovative technologies at the STPI pavilion at the event. STPI, which works under the Department of Information Technology, Government of India, has announced sponsorship of 127 MSMEs at CeBIT India 2015. The idea is to promote the software industry in the country.

Talking about the tie-up, Omkar Rai, Director General, STPI, says, “As the country talks of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, the Government has mandated the Software Technology Parks of India to develop and catalyse the Indian MSME growth story. We have been championing the cause of developing the MSME sector in the country for over 23 years and today we are glad to join hands with CeBIT India.”


CeBIT India is the perfect platform for promoting the small and medium scale enterprises and providing them with global exposure of an incredible scale, Rai said adding that it would be a show of tremendous international repute and would help the budding players in the software industry.

Speaking about the partnership, Mehul Lanvers-Shah, MD, Hannover Fairs India Pvt Ltd, said, “We are excited to associate with STPI for promoting the Indian MSME sector. We believe that boosting the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises ecosystem is critical for transforming the vision of India as a global manufacturing hub into reality.”


He further said that for a country that has rung out the ‘Make in India’ mantra, CeBIT India is an ideal platform to recognise the tremendous potential of the Indian MSMEs and activate exciting opportunities in electronics and software ecosystems from all across the globe.
