Nicolas Mahut, of 70-68 Wimbledon fame, was playing doubles Tuesday at the U.S. Open when a ball hit wide led him to the sideline where, because of the tighter dimensions on Louis Armstrong Stadium, he was quickly faced with a dillema: pull a Derek Jeter and dive into the stands headfirst or go the Flying Wallenda route.

Clearly he went with option B, tip-toeing into the stands, something he probably wanted to do during that three-day Wimbledon match so many years ago.
Mahut and his French partner Pierre-Hugues Herbert upset the No. 3 seeds in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals in the men’s doubles competition.
