Hollywood mom-daughter pairs create screen magic together

A lot of daughters would confess that at least once in their adolescent years they've tried to wear their mother's pearl necklace, makeup, shoes and clothes trying really hard to enact like their moms. Hollywood star kids have taken this inspiration one step ahead by taking forward their mother's acting prowess. Like mother ­ like daughter, fits truly for some of HTown's coolest mother-daughter duos as they have given viewers some stimulating movies that can be watched with moms and popcorn boxes.
DUO: MERYL STEEP & MAMMIE GUMMER MOVIE: RICKI AND THE FLASH, HEARTBURN
There is no role that Meryl Steep can't do with panache; be it as the badass boss to a middle-aged woman finding love again with a photographer, she's lived the celluloid roles.However, her recent role of a Rockstar in Ricki and the Flash saw her in a different light ­ again. She plays the role of rockstar who leaves her husband and daughter only to come back after a long gap to set things right. The twist: Mammie Gummer who's Meryl's real daughter plays her screen daughter giving and makes this story about a strained motherdaughter relationship seem almost real on screen. What's interesting is that this mom-daughter pair shared screen space three decades earlier when Mammie made her debut at the age of three in the Heartburn where she played Meryl's onscreen daughter, Annie Forman.

DUO: MELANIE GRIFFITH & DAKOTA JOHNSON MOVIE: CRAZY IN ALABAMA
While Dakota Johnson painted the town literally red by donning the hat of the naïve Anastasia Steele in the controversial Fifty Shades of Grey, this bold actress made her debut at 10. Dakota along with her half-sister Stella Banderas, shared screen space with her mother Melanie Griffith in Crazy in Albama directed by her then step father Antonio Banderas.
DUO: JADA PINKETT SMITH & WILLOW SMITH MOVIE: MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA
Though Jada Pinkett Smith and daughter Willow Smith have not really worked together in a movie together or shared screen space, but both have given voice overs to characters in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. Jada gave her voice for the character Gloria the Hippopotamus, and Willow Smith gave her voice for the character of Baby Gloria.

DUO: DEMI MOORE AND RUMER WILLIS TV SERIES: STRIPTEASE, NOW AND THEN
This mother-daughter duo who can easily pass off as sisters, played an onscreen motherdaughter in Demi's Striptease and later in Now And Then. Rumer, a singer-actor is recovering from a foot injury that happened during the Dancing With The Stars Live! tour earlier this season, while Demi was recently in news when a 21-year-old man died in her swimming pool at her LA pad at a party thrown at her home.

For many watching the sultry Angeline Jolie essay the role the evil princess in Maleficent was a great treat. Jolie's daughter Vivienne, also made her debut in the movie as the young princess Aurora. However the Salt actress was quoted saying that it took a `family effort to get Vivienne to follow directions on her first day on set'. Well it sure was impressive as Vivienne didn't get scared seeing her mom in such a scary costume and makeup!

DUO: SUSAN SARANDON AND EVA AMURRI MARTINO MOVIE: THE BANGER SISTERS
This mother-daughter duo have worked together, in The Banger Sisters, Anywhere But Here, Earthly Possessions, Middle of Nowhere and the most recent That's My Boy. While Eva played the younger version of Susan's character in the mini-series The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe the duo are now planning another TV series, a comedy riot where they will star in as well as co-produce.

This mother-daughter duo has shared screen space thrice. With the striking resemblance between Blythe Danner and Gwyneth Paltrow, it was a no-brainer that Blythe would play Aurelia Plath, Sylvia Plath's mother in Sylvia, for which Gwyneth won accolades.
