Google Adds Voice Recognition To Docs But Blocks Swearing

Google Docs Lets You Type Using Your Voice As Long As You Don't Swear

Google Docs now lets you type using voice recognition. Hoorah.

In a blog post about the update, Google wrote: "Voice typing has helped change the way we work on the go (when it’s easier to talk than type).

"We’re now bringing that innovation to the web, where improvements to voice transcription make even long-form dictation, like sharing your brainstorming ideas with teammates around the world, a breeze."

Although the software supports 40 different languages, the one thing it will not tolerate are certain types of swear words.

F*** and s*** are blocked using asterisks while the full form of w***** and b**** are left untouched.

If you are keen to try this out yourself, just turn on voice typing from the tools menu in Google Chrome.
