SR Congress members staged a walkout from the Assembly, charging the government with trying to bulldoze the Opposition by bringing several bills for consideration and passage on Thursday itself.

Before leading the walkout, Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy accused the government of trying to bulldoze the Opposition and said some of the bills were given on Thursday without giving sufficient time to members to study and give suggestions.

Quoting the rules, the YSRC president said that seven days time needed to be given to the House before introducing a bill.

He expressed the fear that one of the bills dealing with Special Courts could be misused for harassment and said adequate time was needed to be given for in-depth discussion.

Rejecting the charge that the government was bulldozing, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the bills were being taken up in view of urgency.

He further said that the Speaker was empowered to give relief and the government requested the Chair in this regard.

However, Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao said that in view of the short session sufficient material was given to the members of bother the ruling party and main Opposition.
