Anbumani Ramadoss launches android-based mobile application

The app allows users to directly write to Anbumani
CHENNAI: Joining the race to keep pace with tech-savvy young people, PMK’s chief ministerial candidate Anbumani Ramadoss on Thursday launched an android-based mobile application.
It comes days after his rivals DMDK founder Vijayakanth and DMK treasurer M. K. Stalin launching their own apps.
After launching his personal website www.anbumani4cm.com in July, Anbumani said as a next step towards establishing a better connect with the people, his team had developed an election campaign management mobile app that collaborated all social media platforms.
“Having realised the impact of social media to reach out to the masses, we felt this app could cut across boundaries and help us connect with our people and communicate our vision for Tamil Nadu,” he told reporters after launching the mobile app here.
The app allows users to directly write to Anbumani. “Anyone who would want to know specific details, be it the press or general public can write to me directly through enquiry mail option. Reply will be given with my knowledge,” he said.
Besides, the app has a feature called Constituency Connect, which helps connect with voters of 234 constituencies to know their issues and problems. It also facilitates users to join the party.
The app also provides information on Anbumani’s daily schedule and enables users to view live telecast of his speeches and meetings.
Pointing to the important role played by the social media and internet in the successful election campaign of US president Barrack Obama, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Anbumani said his party would be using social media with the hope of expanding its support base, particularly youth, with the mobile app. Hours after the launch of the app, over 200 people had downloaded it.
The CPI(M)’s Tamil Nadu unit was the first party in the state to officially launch its mobile app in February this year. But the app limited itself to providing latest news, press releases and communiqués of the party.
Incidentally, AIADMK’s official mobile app had been in vogue for over a year. “Once the final version is ready, it will be released officially with the consent of AIADMK supremo,” said AIADMK’s IT wing secretary Aspire Swaminathan.
