Two gardai were hospitalised and one remains in care after sustaining serious facial injuries a brutal assault in Ballyfermot.
The vicious attack happened at 5pm on Tuesday evening while the two male guards were on duty on the Landon Road.
Both guards were rushed to St James's hospital after a male set upon them as they tried to deal with a road traffic incident.
One of the officers was released yesterday afternoon after treatment for a broken nose, while the there remains in hospital after undergoing surgery to treat a broken jaw.
The Gardai have made no arrests and are appealing to witnesses or anyone with information to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station 01 6667200.
