Mercedes launches its eleventh car in 2015

New Delhi, Sept.3 : Mercedes-Benz India launched its eleventh car this year, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S.

The car will come to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and has been priced at Rs 1.3 crores (Ex Showroom Delhi).

The car will expand the range of the C Class which has been felicitated with the ‘World Car of the Year’ award. This car will be the 10th AMG to be launched in India.

The car will come with a new 4 litre V8 AMG twin turbo engine. This will be mated to a 7-speed AMG Speed-shift gearbox, this engine churns out a 510 bhp while yielding a peak torque of 700 Nm.

The car comes with five driving modes, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race and Individual. The car, according to Mercedes, does 0 to 100 kmph in four seconds.

“The C 63 AMG has been a legendary sports car and with the launch of the new generation AMG C 63 S, the success story of the Mercedes-AMG brand will be further rooted in India. Be it power, driving dynamics or appointments, the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S sets a whole new benchmark and reinforces our brand’s claim of ‘Driving Performance’, like never before,” said Eberhard Kern, MD and CEO, Mercedes Benz India, at the launch.

He added that this is the tenth AMG model they are introducing as there is an increasing demand for our high-end performance cars. The launch of the AMG C 63 S further reiterates their ‘top of pyramid’ product strategy, which highlights their endeavour in offering the best products from their global portfolio to Indian customers.

The C 63 AMG brand, which was launched in 2007, is the best selling AMG model to date with about 40,000 cars being sold worldwide. The C63 S will also sport an AMG body kit that makes the car even better looking than before. The 19-inch alloys , aluminium front wings, ‘twin blade’ radiator grille with AMG lettering, diffuser insert with three fins at the rear-end, two chrome-plated twin end pipes of the AMG sport exhaust system, all add to the car’s appeal.
