Patna: Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Ram Kripal Yadav on Thursday said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is acting like a badshah and a dictator in threatening protesting teachers.
It's the old character of Nitish Kumar that he never believes in democratic values. I have never seen this kind of a dictator in my life. After Independence, lots of chief ministers have come. These people are only protesting for their rights. After all, it is our democratic right to protest. He (Kumar) is very nervous ahead of election, and that's why he is acting like a dictator and a badshah, and threatening protesting teachers. He should apologise for his behaviour, Yadav told ANI.
Kumar on Wednesday threatened protesting teachers who were demanding hikes in their salaries, saying that "he just had to sign a proposal against them to pull them down to poverty."
I want to let you know, I have a proposal to dissolve your panel, the moment I sign it, all of you will become roadside dwellers, Nitish told the protestors.
Shut up, Why are you screaming without reason? How can you think your demands will be fulfilled with this kind of protest?" he asked.
People present at the rally were taken aback by such behaviour from their chief minister.
The protest was led by the Bihar State Madrasa Teacher's Association for non-payment of their dues for the past two years.
