One of the prettiest devices out there has just received a successor in the form of the new Moto 360 range that includes two different sizes, just like the Apple Watch. And then there’s the Sport version which has also been unveiled, but is scheduled for arrival a bit later.
The 2015 Moto 360 will be purchasable in 42mm and 46mm options. There’s a special women’s version available in the form of a 42mm body and a 16mm strap size rather than 20mm or 22mm. Those in the US can pre-order it right now at prices starting at $299.
Moto Maker support is available with this device, allowing buyers to customize a number of its aspects before making a purchase. Everything from the bezel, the remaining body, the watch face at the first boot-up and other things can be customized. Of course, metal bands can also be chosen if you’re willing to spend some extra cash.
The next-gen Moto 360 retains the ‘flat tire’ display of its predecessor, but defends itself by boasting about its impressive 71.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. Its display can either be a 1.37-inch 360 x 325 pixel panel (42mm) or a 1.56-inch 360 x 330 pixel one (46mm). IP67 dust and water resistance and a heart rate sensor are two of its other highlights, while Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support are of course present as well.
Here’s a quick glance at the key specs of the new Moto 360:
– Display: 1.37-inch 360 x 325 pixel (42mm), 1.56-inch 360 x 330 pixel (46mm)
– OS: Android Wear
– Processor: 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 400
– GPU: Adreno 305

Motorola has also taken the veil off its Moto 360 Sport which offers most features of its parent device, but also comes with GPS support. This allows you to leave you home without a companion smartphone during your workouts. Focused on fitness freaks, it kicks in an AnyLight Hybrid display bearing higher sunlight legibility.
While pricing and availability details of the Moto 360 Sport haven’t been revealed at the moment, we do know that the new Moto 360 smartwatches will begin shipping soon at values ranging from $299.99 to $429.99. US dwellers can pre-order them now via various retail channels, or get them via Moto Maker.
